Looking Back at 2022

What a banner year for Christ Church in Kalispell. As we begin the new liturgical year, and the calendar year we want to remember all the good that God has done in our community in 2022.

In July we welcomed our new rector, Rev. Sadie Koppelberger, and in December celebrated her ordination to the priesthood. That occasion marked Bishop Marty’s third visit to us in 2022. We have been honored by her presence, and well supported by many wonderful supply priests as we waited for our new rector.

Bishop Marty, Arch Deacon Dorcie, and the newly ordained Reverend Sadie Koppelberger.

This year our community was colorful and lively. With the lifting of Covid restrictions. Passing the peace has become a joyful time of visiting. Coffee hours and potlucks are frequently filling the halls with fellowship.

The grounds and buildings of Christ Church have been lovingly maintained by volunteers and hired help. The Altar Guild has continued to prepare the sanctuary each week with great reverence.

Christ Church is actually 130 years old! May the work of the past be continued in the coming year.

Christ Church 2022

In addition to ordination, Father Sadie planned a wonderful parish retreat, a confirmation, and baptism services. Many of our young people have joined the weekly services as acolytes. We shared candy with neighbors on Halloween and joined in caroling together in Advent.

Weekly services have been available to stream on YouTube. Our private Facebook page is full of fun stories and events with the youth group. And in 2022 we joined TikTok! Truly Christ Church is spanning generations.

Thanks for a great year. We hope to see more color and joy in 2023!
